After a sold-out run across the United Kingdom and Canada, Bovi Ugboma is bringing Guilty as Charged home.
The award-winning comedian, actor and writer will close his 2026 world tour in Nigeria this October with two final performances, beginning in Benin City on October 1 and ending on October 11 at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel, Lagos.
It is a fitting homecoming for a tour that has enjoyed an impressive international run. Bovi kicked off the tour in the United Kingdom at Easter, selling out Indigo at The O2 before heading to Canada, where he performed across six cities, including Toronto, Calgary and Edmonton. All six Canadian shows were sold out.
Now, with the international leg completed, Nigerian audiences will get the final two performances of Bovi: Guilty as Charged, with Benin City opening the homecoming stretch and Lagos providing the closing stage for the 2026 tour.
For nearly two decades, Bovi has built a career around his clever observations, fearless humour and ability to turn familiar experiences into memorable stories. Across stand-up comedy, television and film, he has become one of Africa’s most celebrated comedians, with his live performances particularly known for sharp commentary on relationships, society, popular culture and everyday life.
Productions including Bovi: Man on Fire and Naughty by Nature have helped establish him as a leading force in Nigerian comedy, attracting audiences both at home and internationally. Guilty as Charged is the latest chapter in that journey and brings him back before Nigerian audiences after the tour’s sold-out dates abroad.
There is also something different planned for Lagos.
For the first time at a Bovi show, every ticket buyer will have a designated seat and will be able to choose that seat while purchasing a ticket. The arrangement will apply across the venue, creating a fully reserved seating experience for the audience.
The October dates will give audiences in Benin City and Lagos the opportunity to experience the material that has taken Bovi from a sold-out opening at Indigo at The O2 to six sold-out shows across Canada.
