Grammy-winning R&B superstar Brandy Norwood is set to ignite Nigeria’s famous “Detty December” festivities as she headlines Flytime’s House of R&B at the prestigious Eko Convention Centre in Lagos on Sunday, December 20, 2026.
The announcement marks a major highlight for Lagos’ end-of-year concert calendar. Organised by Flytime Promotions, the event will officially launch a six-night entertainment marathon running through Christmas Day.
Known affectionately to music fans as “The Vocal Bible,” Brandy will deliver a headline set spanning her legendary multi-decade career. Concertgoers can expect live renditions of classic 90s and 2000s anthems, including “I Wanna Be Down,” “Baby,” “The Boy Is Mine,” and “Have You Ever?”, alongside recent releases and collaborations.
“Opening with an artist of Brandy’s caliber sets the tone for the world-class performances and hospitality our guests expect all season,” said Cecil Hammond, founder of Flytime. Founded in 2004, Flytime has consistently drawn international stars to Nigeria’s commercial capital, with past lineups featuring acts like Boyz II Men, Bobby Brown, and Megan Thee Stallion alongside Afrobeats giants Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido.
The Lagos headline concert caps off a landmark year for the 47-year-old singer. In 2026, Brandy received the Black Music Icon Award from The Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective, earned a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame, and saw her memoir, PHASES, top The New York Times Best Seller list.
The concert on December 20 will open Flytime’s 2026 flagship holiday series at Victoria Island’s Eko Convention Centre. The lineup following Brandy’s performance includes Coca-Cola Rhythm Unplugged on December 21, the three-night Flytime Fest Powered by Coca-Cola from December 22 to 24, and the grand finale Flytime Circle on Christmas Day.
Music buffs in Nigeria and visiting diaspora tourists are preparing for high ticket demand as Lagos prepares to welcome one of global R&B’s most enduring vocalists.
